SYMPTOMS
========
While trying to browse a server in File Manager in Windows NT, you
may receive the following error message.
Network Name Cannot Be Found.
CAUSE
=====
This error can be caused by typing "\\<servername>\"--without the
quotation marks--(for example, "\\westlab\") in the Path box of the
Connect Network Drive dialog box. You cannot enter a a trailing
backslash (\) after the server name.
The trailing backslash is used when browsing in Windows for
Workgroups, but this method is not available in Windows NT.
RESOLUTION
==========
To eliminate this error message, remove the trailing backslash from the
server name (for example, "\\westlab").
Steps to Reproduce Problem
--------------------------
1. Open File Manager from the Main group.
2. Select Disk and choose Connect Network Drive.
3. Enter a server name in the Path box as follows:
\\server\
4. Choose OK.
You will receive the above error message.
